Fast Fuel Ltd started trading on 1st October 2002 with one small Fuel Tanker
and 3 staff. Jerry Haslett, Rory Fisher and Mrs Jacaline Barnett, Jerry heading the company and controlling Sales and Purchasing,
Rory in charge of technical issues and controlling deliveries and Jackie running the administration for the
company.
From virtually the first day they all knew that things were destined to go well as the telephones
started ringing at 7 am and have been busy ever since. On 1st December 2002 Fast Fluid Power
Ltd opened with Jerry's son Leigh Haslett offering a service incorporating Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Lubricants
and a host of other products from the combined industrial unit at Raglan Monmouthshire. The
Fast Lubricants brand was established in January 2003 offering
the full range of industrial, agricultural, automotive and specialised cutting lubricants
and were also appointed authorised Gulf Lubricants distributor for the UK. Full
stocks were implemented in the Raglan depot available for collection via the trade
counter or delivered free within our delivery area. Shortly after, the lubricants
range included Own Branding allowing our customers to sell the lubricants we supply
with their corporate logo and name printed on it.
By the end of year one, the companies had turned over £1 million plus and were growing at an
astounding rate. To be ready for the demands of the second winter
since conception,
Fast Fuel
increased it's fleet in order to keep up with the
ever increasing demand, the fleet
included 2 mini tankers for domestic customers and a 26 ton 6 wheel tanker, backed up by a van and a 4x4 vehicle to cater for customers with difficult or remote access
and also to keep supplies moving should snow become a problem for the heavier vehicles.
Fast Fuel increased its turnover again during year 2 and together with Fast Fluid Power
£3 million turnover was achieved during the third year of trading. Year 3 targets
were surpassed with vehicles needing to run 7 days a week to meet demand. The fleet
was again increased to ensure their reputation remained. A four wheel tanker
was purchased along with another van and another 4x4. The edition of an articulated
tanker to help with the marine bunkering and stock supply was added at the end of
the third year. The workforce had increased to 13 full time by this point.
Between the companies several thousand customers
are serviced on a regular basis. Their
outlook on customer satisfaction and value for money is ensuring
Fast Fuel are quickly becoming one of the premier supply
companies throughout South Wales and the Forest of Dean.
